Various Television commercials from Australia: This advertisement for Holden cars was first broadcast on Australian television during the 1970's. The jingle which claims Australian people like 'football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars' became popular at the time and is still fondly remembered by most people who are old enough to remember this commercial. I'm not certain when about the seventies this ad was broadcast. ---------------------------------- Australian Television Advertisement Ad Commercial Late Seventies 1970's 1970s 70's 70s australianads

I wrote this poem a few years ago. I was thinking of putting a bunch of my old photos from the scrapbook up with some Rock-n-Roll by Dagmar and the Seductones, then Dagmar reminded me of the poem, and I decided that they might just make a good background for it, so I put it together that way. All the cars in the early part of the video were either mine, or relatives of mine. Some near the end were from 1970's car shows in Georgia, Stone Mountain and Andalusia Alabama rod run.

The owner of the cars was a car dealer in the 1970s and 1980s, and decided to save the more interesting cars that came through his doors. When the barn was full, he padlocked and "soldered" the doors shut. (Perhaps welding was too permanent.) Web sites varied on the number of cars: 58, 100, and 180 were speculated. According to Morais, there are 180 cars in the barn. Cotter's research indicates that the cars are probably located in an area near Lisbon, in Portugal. Thus, it seems that the "retired New Yorker" cover story is no more than a fictional embellishment. The story may have evolved out of an earlier description of the photographs that simply asked recipients to imagine what it would be like to acquire a piece of land and then subsequently discover a treasure trove of old cars hidden in a barn on the property

Here is the Holy Grail of the GM/Buick Musclecars and is better known as the Hemi killer. Truly one of the fastest, and rarest, musclecars of all time. Meet the beautiful 1970 Buick GSX Stage I. Largest torque rating of all 1970 cars at 510 lb/ft and a grossly underrated horsepower of 360. These cars were scary fast right off the showroom floor and few cars of the era came close to them at the strip. This desirable Saturn Yellow example has been restored from the ground up and is in period-correct, pristine condition. It has been restored according to factory specs and is currently optioned just like it was in 1970. Full numbers-matching drivetrain. This car also has won the Buick Nationals on several occasions and has done so as recently as 2007. It is unbelievably documented. We're talking Protecto-Plate, Original Framed Sales Invoice, build sheet, and a broadcast sheet that was found under the carpet. Also comes with all the original dealer paperwork and a lot of ownership history. A true southerner, it was sold new in Atlanta, GA on May 12, 1970. The buyer traded in a 1969 Buick Riviera and drove out in this musclecar legend. Only around 400 GSX Stage I's were ever produced. Own a piece of American history. They don't build them like this anymore! For more details call us at toll free (866)542-8392 or (704)598-2130.
